GENERAL CLIENT INFORMATION

In keeping with the requirements of the new AQTF Standards for the registration of Training Organisations, please find the following information required by clients, prior to any course enrolment. Please retain for your records.

Most of the courses conducted by Wilmead Australia P/L require a level of physical fitness and general education in keeping with Australian Standards, WorkSafe Australia and WorkCover requirements. As such Wilmead Australia requires trainees to have attained the age of 18, are able to read and comprehend basic material in English, write simple statements, take part in discussions and recognise numbers and symbols, and have no physical disabilities that would endanger the health, safety and welfare of themselves and others.

Prior to the start of the course attendees will be required to sign the attendance form, and where applicable, the trainer / assessor will give trainees a short induction and orientation of the training facilities.

Delivery Information & Assessment

The courses are delivered through lectures, practical demonstrations, class participation & discussions, videos and students physically performing the course activities.

Assessments have been compiled under the guidelines of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF). However, whilst the participant may be assessed as competent at the time of the assessment (competent on the day), Wilmead Australia cannot guarantee that competency by the participant is maintained should the participant's work habits or work environment change in the future. It is the responsibility of the certificate holder to maintain competency, and to keep track of changes in Legislative and Statutory requirements.

Dress Standards:

All students attending plant/equipment courses at Wilmead Australia are required to maintain minimum dress standards while on site. Wilmead Australia will supply sufficient PPE as may be required for courses such as hard hats and safety glasses etc. If a person has any body piercing that could cause an injury during training, they are required to remove them while on site.

All participants who attend training courses at Wilmead Australia are expected to actively participate in all aspects of the course and assessment. Horseplay and/or bad attitudes will not be tolerated. No alcohol or drugs are to be consumed before or during training sessions at Wilmead Australia. Where any wilful misconduct results in harm to another person the company will not protect you legally. You may be personally fined / charged for this breach.

Appeals Process:

Wilmead Australia has in-place an appeals process which allows for the trainee / client to have their appeal heard and dealt with in accordance with National Standards, should an appeal be raised regarding the course content or outcome.

Grievances Process:

The CEO or their designated person will handle all grievances in accordance with Wilmeads "Grievance Procedure". The student / client will be able to discuss their grievance freely and openly, and the CEO or their designated person will endeavour to seek an outcome that is acceptable to both parties.

Fees and Charges:

Wilmead Australia will provide sufficient accurate information to clients / students that set out the details of the total cost/fees to students and the objectives, assessment procedures, competency standards and outcomes to be achieved by students.

Payment terms are fourteen (14) days from receipt of invoice, unless otherwise arranged with Wilmead Australia prior to the commencement of any course or service. Failure to pay outstanding invoices for services rendered may result in cancellation of certification issued. A defaulting debtor will be responsible for payment of the debt, and any debt collection agency fees.

Any fees / charges paid in advance will be held until the service / training has commenced. This includes cheques (bank / personal) / money orders and cash. Please note there is no separate billing.

Lost / stolen certificates and Statements of Attainment will be replaced at a cost of $15.00 (plus GST) per certificate. This fee covers archiving, search, administration and stationery costs.

Fee Refund Policy:

Traditionally, Wilmead Australia either invoices the client who has trainees on a course after the course is completed, or individuals pay on the day the course is conducted.

Where a trainee or client pay for a course in advance, Wilmead Australia will offer a full refund to trainee / client should we need to cancel or reschedule a course to a date that is not suitable for the person/s to attend.

If the Trainee / client has enrolled and paid in advance for the course, and requests a refund 5 days prior to the course commencement date, a full refund will be paid.

If a trainee being either an individual or client sponsored fails to attend a scheduled course, they will be liable for the scheduled course cost. Notification to Wilmead Australia must occur within 72 hours (3 working days) of the scheduled course date. Failure to cancel or postpone your position on the course within the specified time will result in you being invoiced for the full amount.

Refund Payment:

Should there be a need for cancellation of a course refunds will be provided by Wilmead Australia in accordance with our Refund policy, so long as the client has paid in advance, and has given at least 5 (five) working days notice of cancellation.

Should a course require deferment to a more suitable date/time, arrangements will be made between both parties (ie. Wilmead Australia and client) for changes as required. We endeavour at all times to provide a superior service to clients by working in with their schedules as often as possible. Should a deferment eventually become a cancellation, then the Refund policy will apply.

Wilmead Australia will issue a company cheque made payable to the original vendor as the refund payment, providing the cheque payment made by the vendor has cleared our bank.

A credit note or company cheque will be issued to the client requesting a refund.

Mutual Recognition:

As a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation we understand Mutual Recognition requirements and accept qualifications acknowledged under the AQF.

Skills Recognition (RPL / RCC):

Where a trainee or the client requests assessment of a trainee through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competence (RCC), Wilmead Australia will develop a checklist from the outcomes for the selected unit of competence detailed in the relevant Training Package.

The checklist will be made up of both written/oral questions and a practical demonstration (if applicable) to ascertain the trainees skills and knowledge level against the unit of competence or within the unit of competence.

Where the trainee demonstrates the skills and knowledge for a module/ section within a unit of competence through the RPL checklist, the trainer and the trainee will negotiate a training program that will concentrate on the skills and knowledge which need to be gained to complete the unit of competence.

Prerequisites for Training:

Some Units of Competency issued as Statements of Attainment under the Nationally Recognised Training Packages such as EWP, Dogging, Rigging, Scaffolding (Restricted Height) and Scaffolding Basic, require prerequisite units of competence training. This information will be forwarded to the client when one of the above courses is required.

Access & Equity:

Governing Legislation may require a person to meet certain criteria such as minimum age or pre-requisite prior to a person being assessed. Wilmead Australia follows the Building Diversity publication for Access and Equity guidelines.

Should you have any specific needs in respect to our training services, where possible we will make every effort to meet your requirements. Where further support is required we will endeavour to identify suitable providers.
