Background
The business was formed and began operating in February 1987 trading as Wilmead Training Consultants a registered business operating from a suburban address. Since then the business has undergone many changes mainly due to the changes in the legislation associated with the safety requirements being imposed on companies to protect the Health and Safety of workers by The Department of Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare (now Worksafe WA).
By March 1996 Wilmead Training Consultants had grown into a well–known and respected training business in the construction, mining and manufacturing industries. In order to allow the company to expand into other non-training areas, Wilmead Training Consultants was restructured to meet the new direction and became part of Wilmead Australia Pty Ltd. This amalgamation gave the company the flexibility to offer new Occupational Health and Safety services and products in addition to training. This included labour hire covering Safety Officers and Training Officers.
In 1999 Wilmead Australia Pty Ltd trading as Wilmead Training Consultants became registered through the Department of Employment & Training as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), through the Training Accreditation Council (TAC). Wilmead is now a Registered Training Provider under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) and is able to conduct courses within the approved National Training packages.
